As part of Lively In-Home Support, we match an older Lively member with a Helper aged 18–25 to work as a buddy and an extra pair of hands around the home, while forming a trusting relationship of care.

• Social gardening

• Personal projects

• Transport

Helpers may not have previous experience or qualifications in care work, but have a genuine interest in working alongside older people, have been fully screened, and trained in Lively services and safety protocols

They are a great fit for clients who have an interest in building a relationship with young people and are still reasonably active, as Lively Helpers are not able to provide medication assistance, personal care or mobility support. We refer to our in-home clients as our "members", because we see them as active participants who are also supporting our young helpers to grow and gain experience.

In our most 2023 member survey, 96% of members said they would recommend Lively to a friend, with 93% saying they were "extremely likely" to do so.

In Lively's Community Tech Help programs, we run three different types of tech support sessions in partnership with libraries and community centres:

• Tech Help Workshop: Group workshops in which attendees are introduced to a specific tech skill in a friendly and welcoming environment, e.g. getting to know your device, video calling, email.

• 1:1 Friendly Tech Help: Bookable 1:1 tech help sessions with a Lively Helper, responding to each participant's area of need.

• Tech Help Pop-Up: Drop-in group tech help sessions with no set structure, responding to whatever issues participants present with.

You may have booked for just one type of session, or you may have a combination of 2– 3 different session types throughout your program.
